The trip to Tarlac was great! We had such a good time spending a memorable night in the beautiful hills of Sitio Dueg in Barangay Maasin Municipality of San Clemente and Sitio Calao in Barangay San Jose Municipality of Mayantoc, both in Tarlac province in Region 3. The natural scenery was so chill, and the locals were super welcoming, which made the whole experience even more awesome. The cool breeze and stunning views made our stay unforgettable. And let’s not forget the crazy challenge of driving uphill in the middle of the night!

DUEG is a Pangasinense word for “Carabao”. It is a mountaintop view where you can find real peace from the scenic nature view. This Sitio is a village of indigenous people. This place is worth it because of the fresh air, wonderful people, and amazing views.

The house owner in La Paz Tarlac welcomed us warmly and opened their doors to our team of five people from San Pedro City, Laguna. Hearing that they’ve been dedicated to providing slippers and toys to remote communities in their region for nearly 8 years was heartwarming. Their commitment to this cause is truly remarkable. It’s all thanks to friends who raise funds and get others to support their cause.

We had the opportunity to explore two distinct communities and engage with the Aeta Abellen tribes, as well as interact with the Tagalog, Ilocano, and Kapangpangan locals. Sitio Calao, in particular, caught our attention as it comprised fewer households. Our enriching visit concluded after a three-hour activity, prompting us to bid farewell and embark on our journey back home.

Did you know?

Mt. Damas is an attractive scenic spot, the most exciting and challenging to climb. The most exciting highlights are the fascinating sunrise amid the morning clouds and the Heart tree. We also gain to reduce our stress and get a new perspective on our life, from the trekking day descent to the beauty of our Ubod falls and Lush green, the beauty of nature, which can also promote our physical health.

Their way of working together and involving the community is great. It’s a perfect example of what can happen when people come together for a common goal.

Bringing back all those awesome memories with some stunning photos lets you dive into the experience and relive the moments with us.

The power of teamwork and shared vision is truly amazing. Like when IBIT was founded 16 years ago, this project shows what can happen when people work together. It proves how powerful unity and community-driven efforts can be in achieving remarkable results.
